TV-WEST, a bilingual regional television network serving the Southwest and beyond, has commenced full 24-hour broadcasting, offering viewers programming in both English and Yoruba.
The station began its round-the-clock service on Thursday, October 1, 2026, following a period of test transmission.
The new service will provide programming throughout the day and night across the station’s broadcast and digital distribution network.
Its content line-up includes news, current affairs, business, entertainment, culture, lifestyle, sports and development-focused programmes.
TV-WEST Head of Operations, Omolola Dorcas Adeoye, described the commencement of the 24-hour service as an important milestone for the station.
She said the station’s bilingual format is central to its mission of connecting with audiences across the South-West.
According to Adeoye, broadcasting in both English and Yoruba would enable TV-WEST to serve a wider audience while giving greater visibility to indigenous language and culture.
The launch places Yoruba language and South-Western cultural content within a round-the-clock television format, providing another platform for audiences to engage with regional stories and programming.
Adeoye said TV-WEST was designed to go beyond conventional broadcasting by providing content intended to inform, engage and create practical value for its audience.
The station’s programming will cover a broad range of subjects, including current affairs, business, entertainment, culture, lifestyle and sports.
The 24-hour service follows the station’s test-transmission period, which preceded the official launch on October 1.
By combining English and Yoruba programming, TV-WEST is positioning language as an important part of its connection with viewers in the South-West and other audiences reached through its digital platforms.
The launch also adds another platform through which Yoruba language, culture and contemporary South-Western stories can reach television audiences.
As the station begins its full schedule, it will continue to offer a mixture of news, entertainment, cultural and development-focused content to its audience.
