Lagos will witness a fresh theatrical retelling of the legendary Yoruba heroine Moremi as Crown Troupe of Africa brings Moremi RSV (Revised Standard Version) to the New Afrika Shrine in Ikeja on October 3.
The production, presented in collaboration with the New Afrika Shrine, promises to explore the story of Moremi, remembered for her courage, sacrifice and role in protecting her people.
Written by Ayodele Arigbabu and directed by Segun Adefila, the stage production is expected to blend drama, music and African performance traditions in a contemporary interpretation of the historic tale.
The performance will take place at 5 p.m. at the New Afrika Shrine, Agidingbi, Ikeja, with tickets priced at N5,000.
Organisers described the production as a celebration of African womanism and an opportunity for audiences to experience the legend of Moremi through a vibrant theatrical presentation.
