The 14th edition of the Youth Tourism & Hospitality Leaders Forum (YTHLF) will hold in Ibadan on October 29, bringing together young people and stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality sectors to explore opportunities for growth and innovation.
The forum, organised annually by Travelscope Magazine, will focus on youth innovation, digital marketing and tourism development.
Tourism scholar from the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Dr T.G. Yusuf, will deliver the keynote address at the event.
The forum will provide a platform for young people to gain insights into opportunities in tourism, hospitality and aviation, while encouraging greater participation in the sectors.
Convener of YTHLF and Managing Editor of Travelscope Magazine, Omololu Olumuyiwa, said the forum was established to educate, motivate and sensitise young people to the social, cultural and economic value of tourism and hospitality.
Olumuyiwa said the 14-year-old platform had contributed to promoting a more positive understanding of tourism, aviation and hospitality among young Nigerians.
According to him, the forum has also become an educational platform for young people seeking opportunities and career pathways in the tourism, hospitality and aviation industries.
The 2026 edition will also feature recognition awards for scholars, industry stakeholders and young people who have contributed to the development of tourism in Nigeria.
Participants will have the opportunity to take part in raffle draws, with prizes including free scholarships to aviation colleges.
Olumuyiwa said the organisers were committed to creating opportunities for young people to learn more about the industry and discover ways of contributing to its development.
The forum has received the endorsement of several tourism and hospitality organisations, including the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) and Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN).
Others are the Institute of Hospitality UK-Nigeria International Branch (IoH), Hospitality and Tourism Association of Nigeria (HATMAN), Institute of Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) and Global Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (GITH).
The organisers said the event would further strengthen conversations around youth participation, innovation and the future of tourism and hospitality in Nigeria.
